{"id":2653,"date":"2022-06-04T06:48:53","date_gmt":"2022-06-04T10:48:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ortn.edu\/robertsville\/?p=2653"},"modified":"2022-06-04T06:52:09","modified_gmt":"2022-06-04T10:52:09","slug":"2653","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ortn.edu\/robertsville\/2022\/06\/04\/2653\/","title":{"rendered":"Nick Corrigan Named As New RMS Principal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, May 31, Oak Ridge Schools Superintendent Dr. Bruce Borchers announced that Nick Corrigan has been<br \/>\nselected to serve as the new principal of Robertsville Middle School. Mr. Corrigan earned a Bachelor of<br \/>\nScience from Tennessee Technological University (TTU) in 2010 with a major in Elementary Education,<br \/>\nand a Master of Arts in Instructional Leadership from TTU in 2017. He earned an Education Specialist<br \/>\ndegree in Curriculum &#038; Instruction through Liberty University in 2021.<br \/>\nMr. Corrigan began his educational career in Anderson County Schools at Norris Middle in 2010 as a 6th<br \/>\ngrade math teacher and at St. Mary\u2019s School in Oak Ridge. In 2018, he accepted a position in Oak<br \/>\nRidge Schools as a 5th grade math teacher at Jefferson Middle School (JMS). In 2020, he was selected as<br \/>\nthe Dean of Students at JMS, where he has also served as Athletic Director.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Corrigan demonstrates his passion for student learning both as a classroom teacher and school<br \/>\nadministrator and ensures that every student is successful. His educational philosophy is built on the<br \/>\nuncompromising belief that all students can learn when provided a positive learning environment<br \/>\nsupported by teachers, staff, families, and the surrounding community.<\/p>\n<p>As a member of the TN Army National Guard, Mr. Corrigan is currently the Commanding Officer of a<br \/>\nForward Support Company responsible for logistics support with the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment.<br \/>\nHe began his military career upon graduating high school and spent approximately 10 years in the Navy<br \/>\nReserve as a Hospital Corpsman prior to transferring to the TN Army National Guard to attend Officer<br \/>\nCandidate School at Fort Benning, GA in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Corrigan is excited about beginning the next chapter of his educational career as principal at<br \/>\nRobertsville Middle School (RMS). He is honored and humbled by the opportunity and can\u2019t wait to join<br \/>\nthe Ram Family to continue the incredible work that is taking place by students, staff, families, and<br \/>\nsurrounding community at RMS.
