The tradition continues. It\u2019s time for the Senior Shirt Design Contest\u2014the shirt that every senior gets to sign. Please submit your designs for the Class of 2026 Senior Shirt to Mrs. Ledden in Room CS347 by Thursday, September 18. You do not have to be a senior to submit designs for the shirt\u2014open to all grade levels.<\/p>\n

Calling all students! Do you want to help plan prom?\u00a0Applications for the prom board are now open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors! Come by Mrs. Royster’s room VA 102, anytime, to pick up an application. Let’s start planning next year’s unforgettable prom together! (If you already picked up and completed an application at the end of the last school year, you do not need to resubmit.)<\/p>\n

Every year, WBIR hosts food drive competitions between rival schools. Oak Ridge High School will be competing against Clinton High School. The most requested food items to donate are Peanut butter, Canned soup, Canned fruit, Canned vegetables, Canned stew, Canned fish, Canned beans, Pasta, and Rice.\u00a0 Tables are set up in the lobby for donations.<\/p>\n

Team registration for the City of Oak Ridge Recreation & Parks Department\u2019s 2025 eSports program is now open! Playstation and Xbox gamers are both welcomed to join us in our inaugural season of College Football 2026. Teams will be given on a first come, first served basis and is open to gamers of any age! Week 0 is expected to begin the week of August 25th with the regular season beginning the first of September. Additional information, including season progression, will be provided during Week 0. No new teams will be allowed after week 1. Gamers making it to a bowl game will be invited to our end of the year event where we will compete live!<\/p>\n
Gamers will need to claim his or her team via our text channel #team-requests on Discord through this link: http:\/\/bit.ly\/OResports<\/a>\u00a0or by contacting Matt Reece at (865) 425-3440.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Masquers has three opportunities for you:<\/p>\n First,<\/u> buy a ticket and plan to come see ORHS Masquers present \u201cThe Giver\u201d by Eric Coble. $8 pre-sale tickets are now on sale through our cast and crew or online at orhsmasquers.booktix.com<\/p>\n Second<\/u>, are you a photographer or interested in photography? If so, then Masquers is the place for you! We are looking for photographers of any skill level to take pictures for our shows this season. If you are interested, please contact us at\u00a0masquers@ortn.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n Finally,<\/u> if you are looking for a performance opportunity, Masquers is sponsoring a Musical Theater Audition Workshop on Friday, September 5, right after school, in the Auditorium for anyone interested in auditioning for the Masquers Fall Showcase. This showcase features soloists, instrumentalists, and small and large group musical theatre numbers. Bring any musical theatre song you are interested in performing for the Showcase and come prepared with around 32 measures (about a verse and a chorus, 2 verses, something like that). Our music director, Amy Brock, will be there to work with as many of you as she can and give general advice to all. We will not have an accompanist for the workshop, so try to find a karaoke version to sing with. Scan the QR codes on the Masquers Office window to join our communication groups or email masquers@ortn.edu<\/a> with questions.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Attention all Sophomores and Juniors:\u00a0The PSAT\/NMSQT\u00a0<\/sup>is an OPTIONAL test that will be offered to 10th<\/sup> and 11th<\/sup> graders at Oak Ridge High School on Tuesday, October 21st at 7:50 a.m.\u00a0 The test should end by 1:00 p.m. and the food court will be open at that time for students that take the test to eat lunch.\u00a0 The online registration and payment portal will open next Monday and close on Tuesday, September 9th<\/sup>. Register and pay at aptsusa.com\/oakridge.\u00a0 The cost is $20. No refunds are available if you do not take the test.\u00a0 A limited number of exams are available. Please sign up by the September 9th<\/sup> deadline.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It’s college visit season!\u00a0 Our first visit will be today with a representative from the University of Memphis!\u00a0 All visits are held right after school in the Counseling Office’s College and Career Room.\u00a0 Stop by and see what opportunities they have to offer!<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n CLUB INFO<\/u><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Want to do research to help the Oak Ridge Community? Environmental club will be conducting a mosquito research project after school starting August 25th<\/sup> from 3:15-4:30.\u00a0\u00a0 We are working with the University of Tennessee to monitor local mosquito populations.\u00a0 Great way to learn about real field studies !\u00a0 The research will run until Fall break. Interested?\u00a0 Drop by LC 114 and see Mrs. Sluss.\u00a0\u00a0 You need to fill out some paperwork prior to our first study date.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Bonjour! French Club will meet on Thursday, August 28th<\/sup>, from 3:15-4 PM in CS 312 Madame Pry\u2019s room to begin a French movie.
