Level Up Your Library: Join the Steering Committee!<\/p>\n
Want a real say in making our library the<\/em>\u00a0place to be? We’re looking for passionate and creative students to join our\u00a0Library Steering Committee!<\/p>\n This isn’t your grandma’s book club. You’ll be taking charge and shaping the future of your<\/em>\u00a0library. As part of the team, you’ll get to:<\/p>\n Help us pick out the latest books and makerspace supplies.<\/p>\n Plan epic events.<\/p>\n Share ideas to make the library more comfortable and engaging.<\/p>\n We’ll meet during 3A\/3B every day. Your study hall will change to the library, and you will still get a lunch period.\u00a0 Interested? Stop by the library and talk to Mrs. Milloway by Friday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n All ORHS students are invited to the 5th<\/sup>\u00a0annual Back to School Bash hosted by Wildcats for Change on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 5pm-7pm at the soccer field and in the cafeteria.\u00a0 We will have field games, tug of war, kick ball, a taco truck and snow biz on site.\u00a0 Come out and socialize with your peers and staff!<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n Any CCTE senior student in Business, Information Technology, or Welding who is interested in an off-campus paid Work-Based Learning placement, please see Mrs. Ledden in CS347 as soon as possible.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Picture day for all 9th<\/sup>-11th<\/sup> graders and faculty and staff will be this Friday, August 1st<\/sup> in the auditorium.\u00a0 You can order pictures either before or after picture day, however all cash or check orders need to be turned into the photographer on Picture Day.\u00a0 To order photos, go to mylifetouch.com.\u00a0 You can either log in, create an account, or click on continue as guest and type in our school code: EVTHPV73P.\u00a0 This information can also be found on Parent Square.\u00a0 Please see or email Mrs. Pryfogle with any questions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n CLUB INFO<\/u><\/p>\n The\u00a0application\u00a0window for students who wish to join the National Honor\u00a0Society is now open through Friday, August 15th<\/sup>. To be eligible, you must be a SENIOR with a 3.8 weighted GPA. You can find the link to the application in your Class of 2026 Canvas page or the iNEWS. If you are interested in any area of Masquers \u2013 acting, costumes, props, running sound or lights, or working backstage building sets or running deck crew, we want to talk to you! After our 30-45 minute general meeting we will have an audition workshop where you can hear from Amy Uptgraft our fall play director about how you can prepare for the upcoming audition for our fall play, The Giver. Auditions will be help on Monday, August 4th<\/sup>. You must use our audition monologues, sign-up for an audition slot, and fill out the audition form to bring to auditions. We can\u2019t wait to see familiar and new faces TODAY after school in the auditorium.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Apply to be on the Youth Advisory Board! As a member of YAB, you’ll act as a liaison between Oak Ridge City Council and the youth of the city to act on issues that affect you.\u00a0 YAB meets 1-2 times a month on Wednesdays to discuss topics, plan events and develop ideas to help you and your peers grow culturally & socially.\u00a0 The YAB is involved in many of the City’s events including Halloween, Atomic Fall Fest, children’s holiday breakfast, Egg Hunt, Art in the Park, and you will have the opportunity to take a trip to Nashville for leadership development.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n SENIORS<\/u><\/p>\n <\/p>\n A new day begins with the beauty of a Sunrise, reminding us of all the possibilities ahead. Seniors, please join your classmates this Friday to start your Last First Friday of High School. Be at the Soccer Field at 6:15 to watch the Sunrise as we kick off our SENIOR\u00a0YEAR!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n ATHLETICS<\/u>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Anyone interested in joining ORHS Cross Country please see Coach Sauer in LC 308 anytime or come to the track after school.
