\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n STUDENT INFO <\/u><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mrs. King is currently accepting Wildcat Mentor applications for the 2025-2026 school year.\u00a0 If you a sophomore or junior, please check your class canvas page or student square messages for the application.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n AP payments have gone digital!\u00a0 The Spring AP payment window will open on February 1st<\/sup> and close March 1st<\/sup> at 11:59pm for all students enrolled in an AP course.\u00a0This year all AP exams are $101 each except for AP Seminar and Research exams which are $149 each.\u00a0 If you\u2019re taking 3 or more exams your 4th<\/sup> and all subsequent exams are $40 each.\u00a0 If you qualify for free or reduced lunch your exams are $15 each.\u00a0 If that is you, please contact jmmilligan2@ortn.edu<\/a> to verify your status and receive your code before registering.\u00a0 The link to pay is http:\/\/aptsusa.com\/oakridge<\/a> and will open on February 1st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Rex Hitchcock Memorial Scholarship, from One Bank of Tennessee, was created to reward local students for graduation and the pursuit of higher education. One student is selected from each of our nine service counties.\u00a0 Eight of the nine selected students will receive a one-time $5000 scholarship.\u00a0 One of the selected students will receive a recurring $5000 scholarship for up to 5 years.\u00a0 A letter of recommendation and the scholarship application must be submitted by March 31st.\u00a0 More information can be found on their website.\u00a0 The application can be downloaded now or completed online after February 1st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n St Stephen\u2019s Church will be providing lunches for Juniors and Seniors who wish to walk over for only $3 every Wednesday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Congratulations to our Snow Court! If you are on the court, please check for a message from Mrs. Gilliland on Student Square. This year\u2019s Snow Princes and Princesses are the following:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Vote for snow king and queen in the cafeteria starting today, January 22 through next Friday, January 31 during 3A and 3B by donating money towards Second Harvest Food Bank. The Snow Prince and Princess who raise the most money will be crowned Snow King and Queen at the dance. Tickets to the dance also go on sale today for $25 in the cafeteria.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n SENIORS<\/u><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Seniors!\u00a0 The East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) awards scholarships from over 75 scholarship funds in 25 East Tennessee counties.\u00a0 There are two specific to ORHS Students:<\/p>\n Oak Ridge Rotary Brad Sturm<\/p>\n Oak Ridge Rotary Founders’ Day Scholarship<\/p>\n ETF also coordinates scholarship awards for students from 16 counties and states outside of our 25-county service area, and for students studying law, architecture, or sports-related fields of study. Go to the ETF Foundation website for more information.\u00a0 Do not miss out on this opportunity!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n CLUB INFO<\/u><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Ski Club will be taking a trip to Sugar Mountain on February 17th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Scan the QR code outside Jarnigan\u2019s door or on the Ski Club information board to sign up.\u00a0 In addition to the online sign up, there are some paper forms that have to be signed and turned back in.\u00a0You can also get these forms from Mr. Jarnigan in room LC 321 or from the Ski Club bulletin board in the LC 200 science area. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Jarnigan.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n With the HOSA state competition just around the corner, sophomores Leah Mcvay and Natalie Jackson have begun their mental health project! Their project\u00a0is entitled Speak Up Save a Life focusing on suicide prevention and the stigma around mental health. Make sure to go follow their Speak Up Save a Life Instagram page for daily mindfulness tips and other project updates!\u00a0 #speakupsavealife.hosa2025<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Interact will meet on 1\/27 after school in the amphitheater.
