SPIRIT WEEK IS FINALLY HERE! Today is Dynamic duo day! Be on the lookout for different duos in the hallway! Tomorrow is White lie vs. Red flag day, Wednesday is Meme Day, Thursday is Senior Citizen Day, and Friday is Wildcat Pride! Be sure to dress up to show your school spirit! Post your duo and make sure to tag student council on Instagram. The best dressed each day this week will receive a gift card from Student Council.<\/p>\n
The door decoration contest starts today! Any classes can create a door to support our team this Friday and show school spirit. Doors will be judged on Thursday Sept 26th\u00a0during 4th\u00a0period. The winning door will receive treats for the whole class courtesy of Student Council.<\/p>\n
Oak Ridge High School has a brand new student exchange for the year 2025. It is organized by \u201cThe Friendship Connection, Inc.\u201d. You will host a German student in your home for three weeks in the spring and you will live with that student in Germany in the summer of 2025.<\/p>\n
Everybody who had two years of German and is taking German 3 in the spring or who already had at least three semesters of German in the past can sign-up for this opportunity. Students who already participated in the GAPP-exchange this year are also eligible for this exchange.<\/p>\n

For more information, please come to Mrs. Nebenfuehr\u2019s room CS301 or email smnebenfuehr@ortn.edu<\/a><\/p>\n Volunteer opportunity for individuals or groups!\u00a0 The Atomic Man Triathlon will be held at Melton Hill Dam Campground on September 28th<\/sup>.\u00a0 The organizers are looking for groups or individuals to volunteer to support the event.\u00a0 They need help during with kayak support for the swim portion, handing out water and snacks to the runners, assisting in the bike course and clean up.\u00a0 You can volunteer for the day or for a few hours. \u00a0If interested, you can get the contact information from Ms. O\u2019Rourke in the Counseling Office.\u00a0 \u2013 O\u2019Rourke<\/p>\n It’s never too early to start looking at your post-secondary options.\u00a0 Join us for the College & Career Fair on Monday, 9\/23\/24 in the Wildcat Arena from 5pm-6:30pm.\u00a0 College, Military and Career representatives will be on site.\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 A. King<\/p>\n It\u2019s that time again! After Fall Break, we\u2019ll publish the next issue of Oak Ridge High School\u2019s literary magazine, The Acorn<\/em>, which is designed to showcase the creative talents of our students and staff- everything from fiction and poetry to the visual arts. Any ORHS student or staff member wishing to submit original creations for consideration in the next issue of The Acorn<\/em> must email the file to wmstebbins@ortn.edu<\/a>. All submissions must be received by 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26<\/u>.
