Do you want a chance to unveil your musical talents or just see what it’s like to be in a musical theatre performance? Masquers’ annual Showcase is now holding auditions for soloist, duets, small groups, large groups, instrumentalists, and\/or dance numbers! This audition is open to students and staff! The Auditions will be next week on Monday, September 23rd and Tuesday, September 24th. You must sign up for an audition time, fill out the audition form and come to auditions with a song to sing. Details about the auditions are in the Masquers Newsletter found on Parent Square and in the iNews weekly newsletter. Audition forms can also be found on the Masquers Office Door. If you are interested in auditioning for Addams Family this December, the Showcase Audition is a great way to introduce your talents. Email masquers@ortn.edu<\/a> for more information. \u2013 T. Looking for a volunteer opportunity?\u00a0 On Saturday, Sept. 28th<\/sup> CNSCares will be having a Fall Picnic honoring former and current Y12 workers. \u00a0They need volunteers to come right after school on Friday, September 27th<\/sup> and around 10:00am on Saturday, September 28th<\/sup>.\u00a0 This would be a way to support the Senior Citizens of Oak Ridge to share how Oak Ridge Schools are carrying on the tradition of making Oak Ridge such an excellent city. \u00a0\u00a0Contact Leisa Burton (865-202-4880) to sign up and get details.\u00a0\u00a0 – O\u2019Rourke<\/p>\n

Volunteer opportunity for individuals or groups!\u00a0 The Atomic Man Triathlon will be held at Melton Hill Dam Campground on September 28th.\u00a0 The organizers are looking for groups or individuals to volunteer to support the event.\u00a0 They need help during with kayak support for the swim portion, handing out water and snacks to the runners, assisting in the bike course and clean-up.\u00a0 You can volunteer for the day or for a few hours.\u00a0 If interested, you can get the contact information from Ms. O\u2019Rourke in the Counseling Office.<\/p>\n

Anyone looking to get extra help preparing for the ACT test can sign\u00a0up\u00a0for the ACT\u00a0Boot Camp, which will be held the first four days of Fall Break, September 30 to October 3. Sessions will be from 8-11 a.m. in the amphitheater, and each day will focus on a different section of the test. This opportunity is free, but transportation will not\u00a0be provided, and lunch will not be served.\u00a0 Sign up links are in the class Canvas pages, the iNews, and have been sent through ParentSquare. Oak Ridge High School has a brand new student exchange for the year 2025. It is organized by \u201cThe Friendship Connection, Inc.\u201d. You will host a German student in your home for three weeks in the spring and you will live with that student in Germany in the summer of 2025.<\/p>\n

Everybody who had two years of German and is taking German 3 in the spring or who already had at least three semesters of German in the past can sign-up for this opportunity. Students who already participated in the GAPP-exchange this year are also eligible for this exchange.<\/p>\n
