Would you like to help plan Prom 2025? The ORHS Prom Board is open to all students Freshmen- Seniors who would like to share ideas and work together to make decisions regarding the prom theme, poster designs, decorations, save the dates, songs for the DJ and more! If you be interested in joining Prom Board 2025 please pick up a petition and permission form from Ms. Theele in VA 102 or Ms. Eidam Dyer in LC 313.<\/p>\n

Homecoming Dance tickets will be on sale in the cafeteria during lunch starting today, September 16. Tickets will be sold through September 27 or until sold out. \u00a0Tickets are $25. \u00a0Only ORHS students may attend. \u00a0— P. Taylor<\/p>\n

Students, Because of the enduring crumbs, trash, and spills, we will no longer allow food of any kind in the library. \u2013 C. Milloway<\/p>\n

The next two weeks are big college visit weeks!!! This week we have UTK (Monday), Dartmouth (Tuesday) and Yale (Thursday) all in the Counseling Office after school each day.\u00a0 Stop by, meet the rep, ask a question, let them know you\u2019re interested in their school!\u00a0 –O\u2019Rourke<\/p>\n

Looking for a volunteer opportunity?\u00a0 On Saturday, Sept. 28th<\/sup> CNSCares will be having a Fall Picnic honoring former and current Y12 workers. \u00a0They need volunteers to come right after school on Friday, September 27th<\/sup> and around 10:00am on Saturday, September 28th<\/sup>.\u00a0 This would be a way to support the Senior Citizens of Oak Ridge to share how Oak Ridge Schools are carrying on the tradition of making Oak Ridge such an excellent city. \u00a0\u00a0Contact Leisa Burton (865-202-4880) to sign up and get details.\u00a0\u00a0 – O\u2019Rourke<\/p>\n

Anyone looking to get extra help preparing for the ACT test can sign\u00a0up\u00a0for the ACT\u00a0Boot Camp, which will be held the first four days of Fall Break, September 30 to October 3. Sessions will be from 8-11 a.m. in the amphitheater, and \u00a0each day will focus on a different section of the test. This opportunity is free, but transportation will not\u00a0be provided and lunch will not be served.\u00a0 Sign up links are in the class Canvas pages, the iNews, and have been sent through ParentSquare. Please sign\u00a0up\u00a0by Wednesday, Sept. 25. If you have any questions, see Mr. Stebbins in CS339 or Ms. Estep. \u2013B. Stebbins<\/p>\n

Celebrate National Voter Registration Day! The League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will be right outside the library on Tuesday, September 17, during lunch. Please stop by to say hello and register if you are eligible. \u2013C. Milloway.<\/p>\n

Oak Ridge High School has a brand-new student exchange for the year 2025. It is organized by \u201cThe Friendship Connection, Inc.\u201d. You will host a German student in your home for three weeks in the spring and you will live with that student in Germany in the summer of 2025.<\/p>\n

Everybody who had two years of German and is taking German 3 in the spring or who already had at least three semesters of German in the past can sign-up for this opportunity. Students who already participated in the GAPP-exchange this year are also eligible for this exchange.<\/p>\n

Crisp mornings and cool afternoons! Sounds like time for apple picking and corduroy, right? WRONG! It’s time for Motorcycle Club!\u00a0 We will have our first meeting this Friday, September 20th<\/sup>\u00a0during lunch in the bus loop. If you ride, bring your bike! If not, just bring yourself!See Ms Fairfax in LC 210 to pick up a parent permission form and sign the list if you have a lunch study hall to be excused from.\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 E. Fairfax<\/p>\n
