If you are interested in being considered, please let Ms. Ottinger know via e-mail by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13th so that she can send you an application to complete. If you have a resume, please attach it to your email. More information is available in your email and in Skyward. (W) &#8211; B. Ottinger<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Student Council Officer and Class Officer Candidates are campaigning this week for your votes! Please visit the Wildcat Canvas Hangout Page to get info about the candidates. Voting will take place on Skyward on April 14th from 8am-2pm. Class Officers are voted on by their grade band and Student Council officers are voted on by all students in the freshmen, sophomore, and junior class. Winners will be announced at the end of the day on April 14th. (M-W) A. The counselors will continue to be available during lunch every day until April 14th (except Thursday, April 7th). If you have a 3A or 3B class, make sure to get an e-hallpass from your teacher before coming to see your counselor. Thompson<\/p>\n<p>The ORHS English Department is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior who plans to attend a two- or four-year college or university. To apply, see Mr. Feuer in CS 319 for an application form, and return to him the completed form along with a response to the following prompt. All responses will be anonymously reviewed, and a winner chosen by a committee of teachers across multiple subjects. The submission deadline is Friday, April 15, at 3:30 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0 (M,W,F \u2013 4.15) &#8211; M. Feuer<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWords\u2014so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them\u201d\u2014Nathaniel Hawthorne.<\/p>\n<p>Consider this observation by Nathaniel Hawthorne and his understanding of the power of words. And in a well written essay, discuss the power of the written word and an experience when you observed directly \u201chow potent for good and evil\u201d words can be.
