Thompson<\/p>\n<p><u>CLUB INFORMATION <\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Any Business Academy student who will be a senior in 2022-2023 and is interested in the Business Academy Work-Based Learning (Co-op) Program, please see Mrs. Ledden in CS347 by Monday, February 28. Past employers have included ORNL, ORNL Federal Credit Union, UCOR, medical offices, and others. Students who are hired will leave school after 4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Period to report to work and will receive course credit and pay. (2\/23, 2\/28) \u2013 T. Ledden<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Come to Mrs. Bauman\u2019s room on Thursday, February 24<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0at 3 : 10 in LC 318, to learn about a new ORHS Club.\u00a0 The ORHS League of Teens is a group to learn how to protect our democracy and rights through democratic\u00a0 channels.\u00a0 This is a non- partisan group.\u00a0The League of Women Voters are our sponsor. \u00a0More than 100 years ago, they met, lead\u00a0 informational sessions for women\u2019s suffrage and were successful in passing the 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Amendment, allowing women the right to vote. Today, they continue to share current concerns that impact all of us, \u00a0Teach us how to make our voices heard, and \u00a0gain information from speakers that are instrumental in creating change.Join us to voice your concerns about proposed restrictions from the Tennessee Legislature on Education, Banned Books, and other social issues that are a part of our changing culture. Bauman<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>AP EXAM INFO<\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We will be taking payments for AP exams the week of February 28 to March 4 during lunch.\u00a0 This is the final window to pay your exam balances as well as order exams for your Spring semester courses.\u00a0 As a reminder, each exam is $96.\u00a0 Seminar and Research exams are $126 each.\u00a0 If your student is taking 4 or more exams, the first three exams are full price and the fourth and subsequent exam is $40.\u00a0 Please make checks payable to Oak Ridge High School.<\/p>\n<p>If you have decided that you want to add an exam for a course you were in during Fall semester only and you didn\u2019t place an order in November you may still do so, however College Board will charge a $40 late fee in addition to the price of the exam.\u00a0 Additionally as a reminder, if a student decides they no longer wish to take an exam that they ordered in the fall College Board will charge a $40 fee to cancel their exam.<\/p>\n<p>Please make sure that you have entered join codes for ALL AP courses that you are in, even if you do not plan to take the AP exam.\u00a0 Mr. Foust is unable to order an exam for a student, even if they have paid, if they have not entered the join code for the course.<\/p>\n<p>You can find the AP exam schedule at the link below.\u00a0 In April, Mr. Foust will be in contact with those students who have exam conflicts and work to get any conflicts scheduled on the makeup exam dates.\u00a0 Like in years past, we are working with Roane State Community College to administer all of our AP exams at the Oak Ridge campus of Roane State.\u00a0 More information on that to come.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apcentral.collegeboard.org\/exam-administration-ordering-scores\/exam-dates\">https:\/\/apcentral.collegeboard.org\/exam-administration-ordering-scores\/exam-dates<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions regarding AP exams, please email Mr. Foust at <a href=\"mailto:djfoust@ortn.edu\">djfoust@ortn.edu<\/a> for assistance.
