A reminder to all students that picture remakes are Oct. 21 for everyone. Photographers will be here taking photos all day that day. If you paid in the summer for the sitting fee for senior photos, you do not have to pay again for a retake. Pictures are prepaid only if you intend to order them. If you just want your picture in the yearbook and do not intend to buy any, come have it made for free. \u00a0\u00a0Yearbooks are only on sale for $65 for a few more days. As of Oct. 1, the price goes up to $75. Order now while prices are the lowest they will be!\u00a0 (F) \u2013 R. Hale<\/p>\n

ACT SENIOR RETAKE DAY<\/strong> –\u00a0 October 19 The mandatory state sponsored ACT for all seniors is Tuesday, October 19th. ( this is the Tuesday after fall break)This test is held during the school day in person for all seniors. Testing will begin at 7:50, and students need to arrive to school by 7:30. Students are automatically signed up for the test, and there is no charge. Students need to bring an ACT approved calculator, several No.2 pencils, and photo ID. Seniors will be dismissed from school after the testing (approx. 12:00). All other grade levels will have a regular school day.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n ACT electronics policy:<\/strong> No cell phones or other electronic devices including Apple watches are allowed in the testing room.<\/p>\n The ACT is a graduation requirement for all seniors<\/strong>. We have 67 seniors who are within five points of having a 21 composite. The 21 composite score earns students the TN Promise as well as a ready graduate distinction. Improving an ACT score by two or three points can mean $1000 of dollars in scholarships. Take a look at the college you hope to attend and see what a few points can mean to your bottom line. This opportunity for a free ACT test can pay off for students and families.<\/p>\n Please contact Ms. Estep (kestep@ortn.edu) with any questions about the ACT Senior Retake.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n INTERSESSION –\u00a0 <\/strong>Intersession will be held the first four days of Fall Break from 8:00 until 11:00, and will function similarly to OR. Students who are failing any class will need to attend; students with missing assignments but who are not failing will be strongly advised to attend and get help. No student must attend all four days; when the work is done, then you are done! It\u2019s important to note that any zeroes that are still outstanding by the end of Intersession will become permanent, so please take advantage of this opportunity to complete your work.
