If schooling during a pandemic has taught us anything, it is that we must constantly monitor and adjust!\u00a0 Please forgive me, as we learned this week that our MAI plan was in need of improvement.\u00a0 Therefore, we are changing things up, and we will begin this new plan next week on Wednesday, January 27th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Midweek Academic Intervention (MAI) is held every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to noon.\u00a0 For now, in order to maintain a safe learning environment, only students who meet certain criteria should attend MAI, and those students are strongly encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n Midweek\u00a0Academic Intervention<\/strong><\/p>\n If you do not meet the current criteria for MAI, please know that individual teachers are available for office hours on Wednesdays, and many teachers hold separate tutoring sessions in person or on Zoom on those days, as well.\u00a0 Please contact your teachers if you would like to request a meeting on a Wednesday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Breakfast and lunch are available free of charge; however, reservations are required by noon on Tuesday before MAI.\u00a0<\/strong> If you would like to order breakfast and\/or lunch, please follow this link to do so:\u00a0\u00a0https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=vdNYGNb6YE61OeUm8KqiP7rCP1M8hxRGrEaMv6jACnJUQlJPTlZURVRBNEY3Sk9JWlE1SDFWU1lMTS4u<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n If you have questions about MAI, please contact Mrs. Roberts at ahroberts@ortn.edu<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 (M, T \u2013 2\/5) \u2013 A. Roberts<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n ACT Prep: <\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Coach Etheridge will hold an ACT Strategies Session on Wednesday, January 27, from \u00a08:30-9:30 AM in CS 336. Please email (AEtheridge@ortn.edu<\/a>) if you would like to attend. There is room for 12, but if more are interested, I can add more sessions. Seniors have priority for this one, which will focus less on academic content than it does on how to play the ACT game to win. I will hold more sessions in February for juniors, who take the statewide test on March 2 at ORHS. I\u2019ll post that information weekly. Some of those will focus on academic content as well as on ACT strategies. (F,M,T) \u2013 A. Etheridge<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Calling all Visual Artists and Poets:\u00a0 Oak Ridge elementary, middle and high school students are invited to create works of art & poetry inspired by the Scarboro 85 and honoring the 65th<\/sup> anniversary of the Historic Oak Ridge School Desegregation.\u00a0 The Competition theme is: \u201cHonoring the Struggle, Celebrating the Triumphs & Inspiring the Future\u201d.\u00a0 The entry form and guidelines will be available to print from the Wildcat Daily Bulletin (you can find a link to these in your school email).\u00a0 All entries due by February 19, 2021. \u00a0(M, Th \u2013 2\/19)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Student Council is hosting all new virtual talent show- Wildcats Got Talent! We will be allowing acts of 1-3 people, and they can involve any talent that you’d like to showcase. Audition submissions will be required to be turned in by January 29th, and the lineup will be announced on February 1st. The show will be livestreamed on Friday February 26th.
