This is the last week to register for AP Exams. Payments will be accepted through Friday during lunch<\/em><\/strong>. Payments can be made in FULL or a with a $40.00 down payment to reserve the exam. Exams are $95 this year with the exception of Seminar and Research. The Seminar and Research exams are $143. If taking more than three exams, the 4th and subsequent exams will be $40\/exam. Students qualifying for free and reduced lunch at the beginning of this school year have an exam price of $15.00. Please see Mr. Foust if unsure of free & reduced lunch status.<\/p>\n Due to uncertainty around the Covid-19 global pandemic, CollegeBoard will be waiving any fees for canceled or unused tests this year so exams can be ordered with confidence. There are scholarships specific to ORHS students, through the East Tennessee Foundation and other local groups.\u00a0 Private corporate scholarships and scholarship search engines that will help you find opportunities for nearly every interest and post-high school education option.\u00a0 There is even information on career exploration and summer opportunities at some amazing schools.\u00a0 Stop by the Counseling Office and check out our Scholarship Section or visit our website:\u00a0https:\/\/www.ortn.edu\/highschool\/academics\/school-counseling\/testing-scholarship-and-career\/<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Tee Higgins \u201cBe The Change\u201d Scholarship is designated for an African-American senior at Oak Ridge High School who is a Wildcat student-athlete and understands the importance of being \u201dAll In\u201d in order to achieve their dreams.\u00a0 All applicants should have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and a minimum ACT score of 19.\u00a0 Application can be picked up in the Counseling Office.\u00a0 Submit your form and writing prompt to Mrs. Taylor in the Counseling Office by Friday, December 4, 2020.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n UT Promise is a last-dollar, undergraduate scholarship that will guarantee free tuition and mandatory fees to qualifying Tennessee residents enrolling in an undergraduate degree at UT campuses in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Martin and Memphis.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>This innovative scholarship will cover a student\u2019s last-dollar amount of tuition and mandatory fees after other financial aid is applied (such as Pell grants, HOPE Scholarship or other institutional scholarships) to students who qualify for HOPE and whose family household income is under $50,000 a year. UT Promise is a student-success oriented scholarship program that requires students to complete volunteer service hours and meet with a volunteer mentor each semester to ensure a successful student experience.\u00a0 Visit\u00a0https:\/\/tennessee.edu\/ut-promise\/<\/a>\u00a0for more information.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The online application for the Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship is available now at\u00a0jackierobinson.org<\/a>. Mark your calendars\u2014Monday & Tuesday, November 9-10, when you can sign your name on the boards for the 2021 senior signature shirt. This is a long-standing tradition at ORHS. Come to the arena immediately after school. Look for the signs directing you to the appropriate side up top in the Arena. Remember to practice your signature, wear your mask, and social distance in line. This is a very quick process, and even if you are last in line, it should not take more than 15-20 minutes for everyone to sign.
