NAACP, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Oak Ridge Interfaith Community invite ORHS students to sign up for The Express Yourself Youth Talent Show.\u00a0 The show will be held at the Historic Grove Theater on February 22, 2020 from 3:00 \u2013 4:30 pm.\u00a0 Download a registration form at https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/expressyoureg<\/a> and then send it to rs_wvr@yahoo.com<\/a> (T,Th 1\/30-2\/20) \u2013 S. Thompson<\/p>\n On Tuesday February 4, ORHS Student Council & Counseling Office is sponsoring Purple Night for the OR vs Karns game in order to raise awareness of teen domestic violence.\u00a0 We are asking our students to wear purple as we highlight the importance of recognizing the signs of violence.\u00a0 We would also like to invite your students to join us in this endeavor.\u00a0 The YWCA will also be in the arena to share resources. Etheridge<\/p>\n <\/p>\n COUNSELING INFO<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Registration for the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine\u2019s 2020 Veterinary Summer Experience Program<\/strong> is open. This program has been designed to provide valuable educational experiences and acquaint students with all facets of the Veterinary Medicine profession.\u00a0 Students will shadow in local veterinary practices for five weeks and then spend one week in Knoxville as guests of the veterinary college.\u00a0 While there, students will be involved in various educational programs including lectures, laboratories, and clinical rotations.\u00a0 Applications must be electronically submitted by 11:59pm on March 1, 2020<\/strong>.\u00a0 Supplemental materials must be postmarked by March 7, 2020<\/strong>.\u00a0 Go to the Counseling Office\u2019s Scholarship, Testing and Career website for details and links to the program. Campbell<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Crossroads Christian Church is offering the Jimm A Snoddy Memorial Scholarship to graduating high school seniors who are performing well academically, who demonstrate character in their life, and who will be enrolling in a post-secondary education institution (university, community college, or other two year training program) with plans to complete a degree or training program in the career fields of music, math\/sciences or health sciences.\u00a0 This is a one-time scholarship provided to assist candidates with the purchase of books and\/or other academic materials in their programs.\u00a0 Application packet can be picked up in the Counseling Office and must be submitted no later than March 13, 2020<\/strong>.\u00a0 (T,Th 1\/30-2\/5) \u2013 A.
