You have been amazed at the grandeur of the Wizard of Oz.\u00a0 You were thrilled when the Music Man came to town.\u00a0 The Sun came out tomorrow for Annie.\u00a0Now come be a part of the world of The Little Mermaid.\u00a0 \u00a0Auditions for The Little Mermaid are the second week in December.\u00a0 Masquers will be having a special informational meeting for all students are who interested in auditioning.\u00a0 The informational meeting will be today \u00a0at 2pm in Ms. Ragan\u2019s room.\u00a0 Come join us for the best experience of your high school career. Jostens will return only once more this year to collect orders for graduation supplies. They will be located in the Main Lobby during lunch only on Thursday, December 5. Seniors who have not ordered should turn in their orders on this date. After December 5, orders may be mailed to Jostens, phoned in, or ordered online. The final date to place an on-time order and avoid increased prices (double) is Tuesday, December 10, 2019. Contact information follows:<\/p>\n

The Oak Ridge Rotary Club Brad Sturm Memorial Essay Contest\u00a0(Merit Based on Essay) and\u00a0The Rotary Club of Oak Ridge College Founders Scholarship\u00a0(Need and Merit Based) applications are now open.\u00a0 Both scholarship applications can be completed online at the East Tennessee Foundation Website.\u00a0\u00a0www.easttennesseefoundation.org\/scholarships-grants\/scholarships\/how-to-apply<\/a><\/p>\n

Both scholarships will require an in-person interview with a selection committee and award winners will be invited with their families to attend an awards presentation at the Rotary Club of Oak Ridge around graduation time in 2020.\u00a0 Deadline for applications is\u00a0February 15, 2020<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Award amounts have not yet been finalized, but should be similar to what was awarded last year (up to\u00a0$6,600<\/strong>\u00a0for the College Founders Scholarship and up to\u00a0$5,200<\/strong>\u00a0for the Brad Sturm Memorial Essay Contest).\u00a0 We typically give out multiple awards for each scholarship, so scholarship amounts per person usually end up a little over 2k, with a minimum award of 1k.\u00a0 Finally, the Brad Sturm Memorial Essay Contest requires a book to be purchased for the essay, so for those students unable to purchase the book off Amazon, two copies of this book will be available for check out in the counseling office. Mrs. Bauman\u2019s economics class will also be provided two copies of the book.\u00a0 We will be using the same book from last year\u2026\u2026.A Capitalist Manifesto:\u00a0 Understanding the Market Economy and Defending Liberty by Gary Wolfram.\u00a0 (W – 11\/20-12\/20) \u2013 A.
