STUDENT INFO

 

Celebrate spooky season with the library. Come by and stack books to create the scariest story imaginable. That’s literally it. No writing required. Just vibes and nightmares. Prizes for the best stories on October 31st.

 

Did you know personal vehicle idling wastes about 3 billion gallons of fuel generating around 30 million tons of carbon dioxide? Idling is even illegal in some states. What can you do to prevent idling? It’s simple, turn your car off if you are sitting in a parking lot or even in your car at your house.

 

3 minutes or less is how much time you have to escape a fire. Please be sure to have the following in order to increase your chance of survival:

Working smoke alarms

Home Escape Plan and practice it twice a year.

Close the door when sleeping and when escaping a room or building that is on fire.

Call 911 and report fires or emergencies immediately. When you hear a smoke alarm, get outside and stay outside.  If you need smoke alarms in your home, please contact the Oak Ridge Fire Department at 865-425-FIRE (3473) or email smokealarms@oakridgetn.gov

Any current ORHS Sophomore or Junior interested in attending Governor’s School during the Summer 2026, please see the Parent Square announcement or your Grade Level Canvas Page for a list of Governor’s 黄瓜视频 offered by the state and information on how to apply. To be considered for Governor’s School, you must adhere to the deadlines set by ORHS when applying.

 

Attention AP Students: The Fall AP payment window is now open and closes on Friday, October 31st at 11:59pm for all students currently enrolled in a fall or yearlong AP course.  If you begin your AP course in January, you will pay in the spring.  This year all AP exams are $102. The link to register and pay is available to all AP students via Parent/Student Square.

 

CLUB INFO

 

FCA will meet on THURSDAY MORNING, October 23rd, at 7:00 AM!!  We will meet at Grace Baptist-Oak Ridge Campus (formerly Central Baptist) – directly across the street from the bus loop and arena at the high school.  Doors open and refreshments begin at 7:00, and a message will begin at approximately 7:10. We will dismiss by 7:35. All are welcome!!!  If you have any questions, contact Coach McKeethan (football/baseball coach).

 

SENIORS

 

 

Seniors and senior parents, please join us in the amphitheater to learn about the different types of financial aid available to the class of 2026 on October 21, 2025 from 5:30pm-6:30pm
“Financial Aid 101” from the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) explains how to apply for state and federal aid to pay for postsecondary education. TSAC offers webinars and presentations on topics like completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), student eligibility, and state grant and scholarship programs, such as the Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA) and Tennessee HOPE Scholarship.

 

Seniors: please submit your signature for the Class of 2026 senior signature shirt! Go to the Class of 2026 Canvas page and locate the announcement with the link to the assignment. Signatures are due by 11:59 pm on Thursday, October 23. Don’t be left off the Class of 2026 shirt!

 

 

Seniors: you do not need to order a large expensive graduation supplies package from Jostens. The cap, gown, and tassel set is the only required item. See StudentSquare or the Class of 2026 Canvas page for step-by-step instructions for ordering only the cap, gown, and tassel set.

 

Seniors: if you did not receive a Jostens graduation supplies packet after the ACT last Friday, please pick one up from the Main Office or Mrs. Ledden in CS347.

 

Seniors: turn in order forms for the senior signature shirts and sweats during lunch at the Arena Concessions’ Kiosk. Checks made payable to ORHS or cash only. Orders may also be turned in directly to Mrs. Ledden in CS347.

 

 

ATHLETICS.

 

Boys Soccer ~ Player Interest Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 21st @ 5:30pm in the lower cafeteria.  This meeting will be for players and parents.
