Show your support for the ORHS Business Academy’s young entrepreneurs at our Business Expo on Thursday, April 16th from: 5:30-7 or online anytime until May 1st  at orhs-businessacademy.com. Featuring a variety of products from jewelry, badge holders, custom artwork, clothing and more, these students are working hard to learn what it takes to have a successful idea and a profitable business.

 

Mark your calendar for Masquers’ Atomic Acts on Thursday, April 16th at 7pm, with a musical theatre opening from our ORHS Theatre Class. It will be a dramatic evening of scenes from plays that will have you laughing and crying with direction from Amy Uptgraft and student assistant directors. Student actors will bring stories to life as they work on building characters and the art of storytelling.

 

All students who have registered to take an AP exam this year must report to Roane State’s Goff Building with their device on Wednesday, April 22nd anytime between 2:00pm and 4:30pm to prepare their device for upcoming testing. This process should take approximately 10-15 minutes. To expedite this process, restart your computer before you arrive so it can perform updates.

 

Take a page. Grab a marker. Make something unexpected. Blackout Poetry Contest — happening in the library. Stop by for free supplies, a quick explainer, and a shot at some great prizes. Enter by April 17.

 

EOC Spring Testing will take place: Thursday, April 16th (Eng 9 & Eng 10),  Tuesday, April 21st (Eng 9 & Eng 10),  Thursday, April 23rd (Alg 1, Alg 2, & Geometry),  Tuesday, April 28th (Biology & U.S. History).  Things to Know: If you are enrolled in the tested subject area, you will begin testing at 7:50 a.m. If you are NOT enrolled in the tested subject (s) for that day, you may arrive after testing concludes. If you do not have a test and arrive at school before regular classes begin, you will report to the food court and remain there until testing is over.  All classes will meet on an abbreviated schedule each day following testing. Attendance to these classes is mandatory for all students.

Calling all talented artists 9-12 grades!  Are you creative and love the Wildcat spirit?  We’re excited to announce a Convocation Cover contest for the Class of 2026!  Show off your artistic skills by designing a Wildcat-themed cover for our Convocation program.

On April 15, Grace Oak Ridge is hosting a dodgeball tournament for middle and high school students.
There will be free food, cash prizes for the winning teams, and UT running back DeSean Bishop will be sharing his story. Registration starts at 6:00 PM, and the event runs from 6:30 to 8:30. Grab a team of 6 and come be part of it.”

Bonjour! French Club will meet Thursday, April 16th from 3:15 to 4 PM in CS 312 Madame Pry’s room for Patisseries et Pétanque ! Merci!!

 

FCA will meet on Friday morning, April 17th, at 7:00 AM!!  We will meet at Grace Baptist-Oak Ridge Campus (formerly Central Baptist) – directly across the street from the bus loop and arena at the high school.  Doors open and refreshments begin at 7:00, and a message will begin at approximately 7:10.  We will dismiss by 7:35.  All are welcome!!!  If you have any questions, contact Coach McKeethan (football/baseball coach).

 

All Business students are invited to attend the FBLA meeting after school on Wednesday, April 15. The meeting will be held in CS345, Mrs. Lloyd’s room. Our guest speaker is Heather Castleberry, the Chief Financial Officer for IACMI-The Composites Institute. You will not want to miss this especially if you have an interest in Finance and Accounting careers.

Come to Black Student Union today in CS329! BSU is open to all students, and we celebrate Black culture and identity while building community across campus. Food will be provided.

 

Artemis II is back, but we’re still doing rockets! Rocket club will meet this Tuesday in Ms. Fairfax’s room right after school. Members who are attending the luncheon on Wednesday should plan to stay for 30 minutes. All other members only need to come by to choose your shirt size.

SENIORS

 

Seniors- this is a reminder that all outstanding technology fees must be paid in full prior to graduation. Payments can be made by cash or check in the main office. You should have received an email from “Incident IQ” stating your balance owed.

 

Seniors – big party – May 15th – 10pm to 5am – just for you! We call it Graduation Celebration! It’s completely FREE – food, games, prizes – with one caveat – well, two actually! First – graduate! You’ve got that part, right? Second – register for the party at graduationcelebration.org. If you will be under 18 on May 15th, you and your parents must also complete the GREEN Permission Form available from your homeroom teacher, Student Services and on the registration website. Everyone must register on the website, but only U18 students complete and return the form. If you know you are attending, please register now – if unsure, talk to friends/family/prior attendees – we always get great reviews! We need to know our numbers as we are making plans for how much of everything we need for you to have a FREE fabulous final fling with friends (yes, intentional alliteration!).  All FREE thanks to donations and general support from your community!  ORHS Graduation – definitely something to celebrate!
